Who I Am

2021 CAMPAIGN FOR BOROUGH COUNCIL
I'm no stranger to running for office. In 2021, I first ran for Ephrata Borough Council. My campaign knocked on every single door in the Third Ward, and many voters told us we were the first local campaign to ever actually campaign and ask for their vote. Now, I'm ready to run it back and continue to build on the grassroots support we received in 2021 to put forward a campaign that truly represents the people of Ephrata.
A FRESH FACE FOR REVITALIZING OUR COMMUNITY

I was born and raised in Ephrata and graduated from Ephrata Senior High School in 2020. A proud member of the town, I have always been as active as possible within the community. I served in student council for all of high school, and during my junior and senior years served alongside the Ephrata School Board as the student council student representative. As a member of the school board apparatus, I worked hard to maintain a strong connection between the student body and the board to ensure students remained informed of the decisions that impacted them most. Throughout my life, I have never been afraid to stand up for what I believe, even if it is unpopular. In the face of opposition, I will never forget who and what I am fighting for- the people of Ephrata.

For as long as I can remember, I have always been active and involved in local politics as much as possible. In 2017, I participated in Senator for a Day in Harrisburg where I learned the importance of the role local legislators play in our community. In 2018, I met with Jess King to talk about her thoughts on the 2018 election and how crucial it is for Democrats to run campaigns with energy to put in place the infrastructure we need for victories down the road. I did just that by working as the youth point person for Bob Hollister's 2022 Congressional campaign, knocking on doors across Lancaster County. I spent election night at Governor Josh Shapiro's victory party and was lucky enough to be right up front as he delivered his speech on what "real freedom" looks like in PA. Within the community, I volunteered at the Ephrata Cloister and worked hard to inform guests about the history of the town. Community service, involvement, and civic duty have been the core of who "Chandler Eby" is for my entire life. I am running for Ephrata Borough Council to follow through on my principles and my belief in the power of service.
PRINCIPLED AND PROVEN
Currently, I am in the process of earning my degree in political science at American University and can graduate in 2023. In the Fall of 2022, I was a part of a select team of students to research and study the elections here in Pennsylvania. While I know this state and our politics inside and out, the Borough Council should operate beyond politics and do what is best for the citizens of Ephrata. With my proven record in leadership and community engagement, I believe I can move Ephrata forward and help improve the lives of the community. My years of hard work and understanding of politics make me the best candidate to run a strong campaign and become the next member of the Ephrata Borough Council.
